Have you ever thought that how to minimize production space in limited factory space? Have you ever thought of doing machining & Turning in one process? Japanese machine tool makers BROTHER & HORKOS are the answer for you.
First, we want to introduce BROTHER’s Speedio Series M140X2 Compact CNC center. The Speedio Series M140X2 combines both machining and turning capabilities in one single compact machine.
In the below image, you can picture just how much the Speedio Series M140X2 reduces and simplifies your production process:
You can save on both space and time on your machining turning process, and reduce the operator training time since he/she will use only one machine. Following are examples of workpieces that may be machined completely on the Speedio Series M140X2:
The following movie will better exemplify how the Speedio Series M140X2 does both the machining and & turning processes together:

If you need bigger working space than the Brother M140X2, The HORKOS CNC is another option. HORKOS is established in 1940. Nearly 80 years old history. Located in Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture, same as the Mazda Car Co.
HORKOS is well a well-known technical company for designing not only the CNC machines but also the whole solution package, including jig fixtures, the appropriate tooling selection and mechanical & electric specifications according to specific customer requirements. HORKOS is the strong turn-key company; several car makers and Tier 1, Tier 2 manufacturing companies are using HORKOS machines for mass production. Please find more detail our HORKOS page.
HORKOS NS70 Version L is capable of machining & turning in one process, much like the Brother M140X2, but for bigger workpieces.
NS70 Version L also helps to reduce a Turning machine floor space, it shares the HORKOS lean “No Bed” design, exclusive from HORKOS where high precision and rigidity are achieved while presenting a very narrow frontal profile. This features allow for several NS70’s to be placed one next to the other for optimum space saving, since machine maintenance may be achieve exclusively from the front and back panels. Here is an example:
The left side image presents a vertical NS70 Machining Center plus and turning machine, plus 1 Robot, for a total 3 units. But if your workpiece is done by the NS70 Version L (machining AND turning), you reduce the solution to a total 2 units. We want you to consider that no need to investment for an extra turning machine is needed and you’ll take better advantage of your workspace. The internal workspace capacity of the NS70 isφ320mm x 350mm so you are able to set bigger workpieces on the table.

The following video exemplifies how the NS70 Ver. L does both machining and turning:

The HORKOS NS70 spindle capability is HSK-A63/HSK-T63 (Equivalent BT40), so the spindle is strong enough to machine and turn also steel parts. If you are thinking about that one machine that can do both machining and turning for bigger workpieces in one single process, the NS70 Ver. L is the one.
And, even if you don't have a turning process but many holes to machine instead, for which you need to rotate the workpiece, you can use still use the NS70 Version L or the Brother Speedio M140X2 as five-face machining station since the turning mechanism is extremely accurate.
