MICRON CHUCK guarantees runouts as low as 0.001mm at the chuck nose and 0.002mm at 3xD (the tool is supplied with inspection sheet) with clamping power as high as other milling chucks or higher (Ø32ID MICRON clamping force is 2.450Nm and Ø6ID is 49Nm, almost twice as hydraulic chucks). Also, due to its unique ball screw locking mechanism, the cutting tool is not drawn back into the tool while tightening.
BT30/40/50, SK30/40/50 and HSKA50/63/100 configurations are available. Shrink-Fit and Coolant-Through are available.
Micron Chuck was developed utilizing Showa original direct clamping mechanism and assembling technology acquired in manufacturing high-quality machine spindles for a long experience.
The cutter is not withdrawn by clamping like collet chucks, due to its unique mechanism. It is required in mass-manufacturing lines to preset cutter lengths to close Tolerance. In the case of collet chuck, the axial cutter projection is shortened by clamping. The back end of the cutter is pressed to the backup screw at that time, which may cause bending and breakage of small diameter cutters.
Highly balanced, up to 30,000min-1 (HPC-H 'G' Chuck). The Shrink-fit Micron holders are applicable to any material of cutters, keeping high accuracy for a long period of time.

HIGH PRECISION MILLING CHUCK
Thanks to an original clamping mechanism and assembly process, a 0.002mm runout at 3xD is ensured.
HIGH CLAMPING POWER
A SHOWA original ball screw tightening mechanism eliminates torsion tightening stress and tool withdrawal while attaining high climping forces (compared to other chucks)
WIDE RANGE OF OPTIONS
Regular, Coolant-through (tool and grove), Shrink-Fit configurations available.
