Cutting tools play an integral part in any manufacturing process. NTK offers a wide range of tooling products and inserts from Ceramics, CBNs, PCDs, Carbides to new materials like BIDEMICS. With a wide range of solutions design for with the aerospace industry in sight, yet NTK is capable of covering all areas of manufacturing.
Carbide ceramics for precision machining and machining of hard-to-cut materials. These material grades use tungsten carbide (WC) micro-grains, the hard layer of which is granulated to a substrate micro size of 1µm. This substrate is coated by the PVD method with TiN, TiCN, and/or TiAlN. resulting in materials that are suitable for precision machining and machining of difficult-to-cut materials. Tougher, harder, and with precision sharp cutting edges with excellent wear and thermal crack resistance. NTK carbide grade series shows very stable performance under a wide range of conditions.
Polycrystalline diamond CBN and PCD nitrated boron inserts present a wide variety of options for high speed / low feed inserts, with excellent wear characteristics such as brazing technology, corner numbering, and multiple cutting edges to reduce costs.
CBNs are ideal for rolled cast iron and sintered materials and semi-interrupted hardened materials. PCDs have faster cutting speeds than carbide for aluminum and copper alloys thanks to the very sharp cutting edges.
NTK's premium ceramics assure the user greater productivity thanks to superior high-temperature hardness, heat resistance, and chemical stability. Some of the advantages of ceramics are high hardness at high temps giving excellent wear resistance at high speeds and allowing low impact in relation to bending strength allowing stable machining at high speeds.
Insert types: White Alumina, Black Alumina (TiC), Reinforced Silicon Carbide Filler (SiC whiskers), Nitrite Silicon, SiAlON (Silicon Nitride with Al-O)
NTK's BIDEMICS is the latest revolutionary insert grade to hit the HRSA material machining industry since the release of Whisker ceramics.
BIDEMICS is a patented material with unique physical characteristics that are above and beyond current whisker grades used on HRSA material applications.
The word is spreading through the HRSA industry and around the world about the results achieved when using BIDEMICS.
